Frequently Asked Questions
Minimum Order Values
Our minimum order values help cover the costs involved in processing and packing orders, including administration, handling and shipping. This allows us to maintain a large and varied range of stocked rubber extrusions and profiles.
For online orders, a minimum order value applies to ensure we can continue providing efficient service for smaller purchases.
For direct office orders, the minimum order value is 40% higher than the website minimum. Ordering through the website is therefore usually the most cost-effective option for smaller orders.
Tooling Catalogue
Our tooling catalogue contains a large number of profiles for which we hold tooling.
However, not all of these profiles are stocked items.
To check availability, we recommend searching the profile reference number in the website search bar.
- If the profile appears in the search results, it is likely available from stock.
- If the profile does not appear, it is likely a tooling-only profile, which would require a production run.
If you are unsure, please contact our team and we will be happy to assist.
Profiles produced using existing tooling normally require minimum production quantities.
Production runs typically start from around £450, depending on the material and profile size.
This reflects the machine set-up costs required for manufacturing.
Typical lead times for most tooling profiles are approximately 4–5 weeks.
- These figures are intended as a general guide. Pricing and lead times may vary depending on:
- Material type
- Profile dimensions
- Coil or length requirements
- Production method
- Manufacturing location
Please contact us for a quotation if you have a specific requirement.
Stock indicators shown in the printed tooling catalogue were correct at the time of printing. However, availability may change over time as product ranges evolve.
For the most up-to-date information, we recommend checking the product on our website or contacting our team.
Yes.
If the catalogue pages are printed to scale, the profile drawings will appear at 1:1 size. This allows you to compare the printed profile directly with your existing seal or extrusion to help identify the closest match.
Bespoke Rubber Extrusions
Yes. We regularly work with customers to produce custom rubber extrusions and seals.
If an existing profile is not suitable, new tooling can be produced.
Tooling fees typically start from around £275, depending on the size and complexity of the profile.
Our team can assist with selecting suitable materials and advising on the most appropriate manufacturing approach.
Restoration and Small Quantity Projects
We occasionally receive enquiries from individuals restoring classic vehicles or equipment.
Many rubber profiles are manufactured in minimum production runs (often around 30m coils), which may make production runs more suitable for businesses or trade customers.
For smaller projects, it can sometimes help to contact a vehicle owners’ club, classic parts retailer or restoration specialist, who may be able to organise a group order and share the
production cost.
Materials
Our extrusions are manufactured in a range of materials depending on the application.
Common materials include:
- EPDM – excellent weather and UV resistance
- Neoprene – good all-round durability and oil resistance
- Natural Rubber – flexible and strong for general applications
- PVC – commonly used for trims and edging
If you are unsure which material is most suitable, our team will be happy to advise.
Cutting and Supply Format
Many stocked profiles can be supplied cut to specific lengths or as full coils, depending on the product and quantity required.
Cutting services may be subject to minimum quantities or handling charges.
Delivery Times
Delivery times depend on whether the item is available from stock or requires
manufacturing.
As a general guide:
- Stocked items: typically dispatched within 1–2 working days
- Manufactured tooling profiles: typically, 4–5 weeks
If you have urgent requirements, please contact our team and we will do our best to help.
Identifying a Rubber Profile
Yes.
We regularly assist customers with identifying replacement seals.
The easiest way to do this is to:
- Check our website using the profile reference number
- Compare the profile with the drawings in our tooling catalogue
- Send us a clear photo along with measurements
Providing key dimensions such as width, height and wall thickness will help us identify the closest match.
Trade and Individual Customers
Yes. We supply both trade customers and individuals.
However, many rubber extrusions are produced in minimum manufacturing quantities, which may be more suitable for business customers.
For smaller quantities, we recommend checking our stocked products available through the website.
International Orders
Yes. We supply customers across the UK and internationally.
Shipping options and delivery times vary depending on the destination and order size. Please contact us for further information.
Samples
In many cases we can provide samples of stocked profiles to help confirm suitability before placing an order.
Sample availability depends on the product and stock levels. Please contact our team with the profile reference or description.
